Chord Electronics is an iconic name in the English audiophile community, to me, it represents excellence in HiFi and Chord makes sure you know that it is proud of its heritage and the British flag is placed proudly on all its packaging. I spent 2 hours with Chord Electronics at the very prestigious Goring Hotel in London for the launch event of the Poly and it was very snazzy indeed with champagne flowing. What impressed me the most at this fantastic launch event was the amount of R&D and technology that has go...read full article

If you are a vinyl fan then you will know how much of a pain that dust and static is when looking after your vinyl collection. For years, I have always tried to look after my records the best way possible and keep them as clean and dust free as I possibly can, but dust and static can be a terrible combination that can ruin your listening experience.

There is many high-end solutions for cleaning records which can run into thousands which unless you have an endless budget will not be possible for most of us, but...read full article

After the brilliant PH9 Phono stage graced my listening room I have another of the trio featured in the Foundation line up and that is the DAC9 for review. It is another piece of elegant electronics which make up for a neat and tidy 3 tier system from the legendary US manufacturer. I love the way they produce seriously no nonsense products and the DAC9 is no exception, it is put quite simply a well-made separate DAC and does not pretend to be anything else, unlike other products which have all the bells and whistle...read full article

The ProAc 2-way speaker design is a thing of beauty, this is something they have been getting right for many decades now but continually refining the builds and especially driver compound technology and implementation. A good 2-way floor stander design can build on all the attributes of a great monitor/bookshelf speaker and extend the bass response even further due to how the cabinet is built and reflex-ported. This is something that ProAc have really nailed down and are one of the best in the world at producing th...read full article

The Chord Company is no stranger to me as I have had many of their cables featured in my HiFi systems over the years and also had the full Signature and Indigo range in one of my HiFi systems about 10 years ago and was blown away by the difference that such a high-quality set of cables can do for a really good HiFi system. They reveal what lesser cables simply cannot and achieve a level of quality that a good system really does cry out for, and when I asked to review a pair of their new Sarum T Interconnects I was ...read full article

I have always admired their work and in particular Stewart Tyler’s ability to create such stunning examples of what speakers should be and that is the ability to create great music. I am a big fan of speaker Isolation tools and anything that can improve on what equipment I have invested in, as can be seen from my review of the Townshend Audio Seismic Isolation platforms but they may not appeal to everyone as they come at a cost which to some may not be ideal. I started off very early in my Hi Fi and AV hobby with sub-woofers as back in the day when sub-woofers were not really main stream there was not much choice in the market at all. The only contenders were from the likes of REL Acoustics or you had to look at the Sub/Sat speaker packages which were being offered from such companies as Miller&Kriesel which were more movie orientated back then and Hi Fi enthusiasts sneered at the use of using boxes to create solely bass for Hi Fi.
